Summerstone
Board and Committees

Why do we need a Board of Directors?

An association’s board of directors is crucial in HOA management. The board is responsible for enforcing property rules, making decisions in the best interest of the association, creating budgets, and more. The association has a responsibility for its common elements as well as the management and operation of the association’s business affairs, all in accordance with standards established by the governing documents created when our community was first developed. To the extent that an association has such authority and control, it is its board of directors that carries out these duties and responsibilities.

Members of the Summerstone Community Association, Inc. board of directors serve without compensation.  HOA board members are committed volunteers who are doing their best to build stronger communities – both fiscally and socially. Every decision they make is driven by these two important goals. As residents of your community, they too care about the direction of the HOA and are willing to step in to support its success.

Homeowners associations, particularly larger ones, utilize all sorts of committees to help complete day-to-day tasks. An HOA committee is a group of community members tasked with helping the HOA board with a specific job. Similar to the HOA board, HOA committee positions are filled on a volunteer basis and, therefore, do not receive compensation.
